Rise Above Poverty (RAP)

In 2008, JFR instituted an annual fund raising effort to support its programs to provide direct aid to elders in immediate need. RAP helps us with efforts such as: hiring a physician in Nicaragua to provide direct care to homeless elders, to assist in the refinancing of a non-profit licensed assisted living for low-income elders needed to remain open, and provide planning services for organizations seeking to provide shelter and services for low-income elders. In 2009, Drive Change: Help Elders RAP featured a cross country road trip on the Lincoln Highway. A major focus will be the development of micro-enterprise models to provide financial support of chronically underserved elders.
