The 2017 occupational therapy (OT) fieldwork program concluded earlier this summer with resounding success. Eight OT students and 2 faculty members worked in two sites over the course of the 6-week program. Projects included caregiver training, and environmental safety assessments and adaptations. Students left the program feeling like residents of the hogars (older adult homes) made significant gains and that they left plans in place for residents to continue their progress.

JFRF is currently accepting applications for 2018 OT Fieldwork Experience. We are excited that this experience is now interprofessional as we’ve added PT students to the program for 2018, which should lead to a truly valuable learning experience for all participants. Click here for more information and application materials or email Beth Mitchell, JFRF Program Director, at bmitchell@jfrfoundation.org.
