Earlier this summer, Keren Wilson, President and Founder of JFRF, met with Msc. Juan Francisco Rocha, Director POLISAL, Msc. Zeneyda Quiroz, Vice Director, and Guiselle Cerda, Director Nursing Department from The National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN) Polytechnic Institute of Health (POLISAL). UNAN POLISAL houses 11 careers including nursing, occupational health, physical therapy and optometry. JFRF was asked to assist in reviewing and developing curricula for a certificate that all health professionals will need, which will help to improve the ability to meet the needs of older adults in Nicaragua. JFRF has offered to facilitate inter-cultural and inter-professional experiences between JFRF service learning and fieldwork programs and Nicaraguan students. We look forward to this exciting collaboration!
